MAMAMOO’s Hwasa has begun preparations for her solo comeback, her first under P NATION following her departure from RBW. The label confirmed the comeback later, describing it as an opportunity for the MAMAMOO star to express her unique identity as a solo artist under its banner.
This comeback marks her first solo release since the single album Guilty Pleasure in 2021, which included the viral title track that topped charts and earned multiple awards and recognitions. Having said that, since the release of the aforementioned album, the Maria singer has released multiple songs; however, no physical album release.
Hwasa originally debuted with MAMAMOO in 2014 under RBW Entertainment. Known for her deep vocals and fearless musical identity, she has since delivered major hits like “Twit” and “Maria.” Her artistry has earned her multiple awards, and her collaborations include projects with artists like Woogie, Esna, and Loco.
In 2023, Hwasa remained active both individually and with her group. MAMAMOO wrapped their tour MY CON, visiting Asia and North America, with encore shows in Seoul in June.
Hwasa also joined tvN’s variety program Dancing Queens On The Road, performing alongside legends such as Lee Hyori and BoA. The show premiered on tvN in May and concluded on August 10. It seems she will pause group activities for the time being and focus on her solo career for the rest of the year.
Meanwhile, Hwasa will drop new music next month; however, details regarding the title, format, and release date have not been announced.
