HYBE is now officially registered as a conglomerate by the Fair Trade Commission, a first for an entertainment company.

HYBE’s assets have officially surpassed the threshold required to be designated as a large business group subject to disclosure.

The Fair Trade Commission designated 88 companies, including HYBE, as large business groups on May 15, recognizing their substantial market presence and assets.

HYBE makes history as the first entertainment industry group to be designated for public disclosure, despite current conflicts, with Chairman Bang Si Hyuk, the largest shareholder, also becoming CEO.

K-pop’s global surge propels HYBE to conglomerate status, with assets soaring to 5.25 trillion won. New designation brings stricter regulations, ensuring transparency and fair play.

HYBE, formerly BIG HIT Entertainment, has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past 17 years. From its humble beginnings as a small entertainment company, it has grown into a global powerhouse with 11 labels and 65 subsidiaries.

Today, HYBE is a leader in the entertainment industry, home to a diverse range of artists and labels, including PLEDIS Entertainment, SOURCE MUSIC, and ADOR.

HYBE’s multi-label success comes with a cost: internal rivalries and power plays, like the Adore dispute, pose a growing threat to its harmony and growth.
