BLACKPINK’s Jisoo has won hearts with her thoughtful response to a question about having a solo fandom name.
BLACKPINK members Lisa and Rosé officially announced their solo fandom names as ‘Lilies’ and ‘numberones’ respectively. Previously, Jennie addressed her fans as “Rubies” when teasing an upcoming release, however, it was later confirmed that “Rubies” is not the solo fandom name.
Jisoo is the only member who has always addressed fans as BLINKs (BLACKPINK fans). The “Flower” singer has never once asked for suggestions for her solo fanclub name or hinted that she is going to have a separate name for her fans.
On December 5, she went live on the fan communication platform Bubble and answered some of the fans’ questions. A fan asked Jisoo if she wants to or has ever thought about having a solo fandom name during the live.
The 29-year-old singer responded, “I like BLINKs I really like BLINKs… A fandom name? I have never thought about it and can not imagine it, I think it will be awkward. I have already had BLINKs for 8 and a half years… I won’t be used to calling them something else, so I can’t imagine it. I already have BLINKs.”
Jisoo also talked about her solo comeback, expected in early 2025. Despite having a packed schedule with the filming of multiple dramas and a movie, the BLACKPINK star shared she has already finished working on the album.
The interesting part is that her solo music is set to be released sooner than expected. She has previously hinted at a solo comeback in multiple Bubble updates and playfully responded to all the spoiler requests.
Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo will all drop some long-awaited music next year. While Rosé dropped “rosie” at midnight on December 6, Lisa is set to drop her full album “ALTER EGO” in February. Details about Jisoo and Jennie’s upcoming releases are expected to be revealed soon.
On the work front, Jisoo will star in the zombie drama “Newtopia” and the movie “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint”, which she has already finished filming. She is currently filming for the rom-com “Monthly Boyfriend” and preparing for her comeback. BLINKs can look forward to BLACKPINK’s comeback and tour in 2025.
