ILLIT Surpasses NewJeans’ Debut Record with 5-Week Billboard Chart Run

ILLIT

Breaking into the music scene with a bang, ILLIT has shattered multiple records within just a month since their debut.

More recently, they surpassed NewJeans’ debut record by charting on the Billboard for 5 weeks. Despite the controversy surrounding ILLIT copying the NewJeans concept, the group is doing well on the domestic and international charts.

BELIFT LAB, the group’s agency, revealed that  the group’s debut mini-album Super Real Me made it onto the latest US Billboard chart as of May 4.

In addition, it was announced that their title track Magnetic secured the 8th and 21st spots on the Global (excluding the US) and Global 200 charts respectively, maintaining its position on the charts for 5 consecutive weeks.

While Taylor Swift is dominating Billboard with her latest album, THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT, ILLIT’s Magnetic is grabbing everyone’s interest as well.

With Magnetic entering the Billboard HOT 100, ILLIT became the fastest K-pop group to enter the main single chart of the US Billboard.

The group is also doing well on local music charts. Magnetic secured a ‘perfect all-kill’ by topping the daily charts of Melon, Bugs, Genie Music, Naver Vibe, and Flo until last week.
