2024 seems like IU’s year. Not only has she achieved a perfect All-kill at the start of the year with pre-release single Love Wins All, she is all set to release comeback album, The Winning.
That’s not all, she is all set to star in a Netflix Original series, When Life Gives You Tangerines (working title), opposite Park Bo Gum.
The Netflix original series When Life Gives You Tangerines, which was filmed last year, has officially announced its release for this year. Netflix confirmed on January 30 that the upcoming romance drama will be available in 190 countries worldwide.
The drama is based in Jeju and tells the life story of Ae-sun and Gwan-sik. IU portrays Ae-sun, a character who is like a ‘desperate rebel’ and fights against the destiny she’s been given. Park Bo Gum brings sincerity to his role as Gwan-sik, who has silently and steadfastly loved Ae-sun since they were young.
Moon So-ri and Park Hae-joon portray the adult versions of Ae-sun and Gwan-sik, respectively, and they will portray the older versions of IU and Park Bogum.
When Life Gives You Tangerines is a collaboration between PD Kim Won-seok, who has worked on amazing dramas like Arthdal Chronicles, Signal, and My Mister, and writer Lim Sang-chun, known for the popular drama When the Camellia Blooms.
