On September 18, celebrated singer IU marked her 16th debut anniversary by donating 225 million Won to multiple causes. 

She donated to the Korean Children’s Incurable Disease Association, ‘Milk Delivery to Ask About the Well-being of the Elderly’ campaign, and Hansarang Infant Home.

Under the name IUana, IU has been donating to charitable causes every year on her debut anniversary. This year’s donation focuses on socially vulnerable groups.

  • Rare Disease Children: 50 million won for treatment, education, counseling, and medical supplies.
  • Elderly Living Alone: 50 million won for milk delivery and wellness checks.
  • Disabled Children: 50 million won for rehabilitation treatment at Hansarang Disabled Infant Home.
  • Hansarang Village: Her donation will fund an elevator installation, ensuring mobility rights for severely disabled residents.

The Love Wins All singer is donating for the third time this year. She celebrated the New Year and her birthday by donating to multiple esteemed organizations.

Regarding her donation, she added, ‘It may be a small help, but I hope it becomes a wonderful gift to those who receive it.’ She also expressed gratitude to her fans, saying, ‘Thank you, UAENA, for always planting love in my heart.’

On the work front, IU is set to hold encore concerts at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on September 21-22.

Korean Music Awards 2026 Nominees Announced The nominees for the 23rd Korean Music Awards, also known as the KMAs, have been officially announced. The ceremony will take place on February 26, 2026, at 8 p.m. KST and will be streamed live on the Melon app and on their official YouTube channel. The Korean Music Awards are known for being different from most other music award shows in South Korea. It does not focus on album sales, chart rankings, or popularity. Instead, KMAs place importance on artistic quality, musical skill, and creative value. Winners are chosen by a panel of 47 experts, including music critics, journalists, broadcast producers, and content planners. This year’s event is officially titled the “23rd Korean Music Awards with Kakao Creative Foundation.” This new partnership supports artists and builds a healthy and lasting creative environment. 23rd Korean Music Awards Nominees This year’s nominations are led by solo artists Jennie and Lee Chan Hyuk, along with rising artists and well-known indie musicians.
