IU’s agency, EDAM Entertainment, issued an apology for the ticket reservation controversy surrounding her Seoul concert and revealed a restructuring strategy.
On April 9, EDAM Entertainment expressed sincere apologies to fans who were affected by the confusion surrounding the ticket reservation process for IU’s 2024 World Tour Seoul solo concert.
Moreover, the agency mentioned, “We also apologize to the artist herself, who must have been disappointed and hurt by our company due to this incident.”
Considering the fans’ suggestions, the agency has eliminated the ‘reward system’ for ‘policies on illegal ticket transactions (secret inspector system)’ and will not classify ticket reservation cases without financial transactions as illegal transactions, as of April 9.
The agency went on to say, “We are more aware than ever of the need for improvement in the identity verification process for children and teenagers,” and added, “So we will pursue improvements by referring to the cases of other companies.”
Lastly, they vowed to compensate the fans who were harmed during the incident, “Our company, Melon Ticket, and the performance team will do our best to compensate the fans who were harmed during the ticket reservation process in the direction desired.”
