IVE found themselves in the hot seat after dropping the newest concept photos for their 2nd EP, IVE SWITCH.
On April 19, Starship Entertainment dropped concept photos for their upcoming comeback with 2nd EP, IVE SWITCH.
Shortly after the release of the concept photos, K-pop fans noticed a similar concept as NewJeans. Their new concept photos have a similar vibe and styling as ASAP, one of the title tracks from NewJeans’ mini album Get Up.
Fans are supporting IVE by highlighting that their inspirations are distinct, whereas NewJeans are portrayed as fairytale creatures in ASAP.
Previously, the newly debuted K-pop group, ILLIT was accused of having a similar concept, choreography, and styling as NewJeans.
Fans are pointing out that the slightly reserved concept and the members’ long, straight hair draw heavy inspiration from NewJeans.
On another note, IVE is causing a major stir with their upcoming album and expectations are high that they will break many records with IVE SWITCH, scheduled to release on April 29.
