After the announcement of Jinny’s Kitchen season 2, fans have been speculating about the cast and location of the show.
Previously, it was revealed that the filming will begin in mid-March, however, the cast and location were not announced.
Korean media outlets reported that the production team and cast of Jinny’s Kitchen Season 2 took a flight to Iceland via Incheon International Airport for filming on March 18.
On March 16 (local time), a volcano burst out on the southwestern Reykjanes Peninsula, approximately 40km from Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital. It’s been reported that a volcano also erupted in that region on February 8. Despite this, there were no delays for the Jinny’s Kitchen team’s departure.
In the tvN show Jinny’s Kitchen, the story revolves around Lee Seojin, who got promoted from director of Youn’s Restaurant to president and then proceeded to open and manage a small snack bar overseas.
During Season 1, back in February of last year, a Korean snack restaurant was set up in Mexico, featuring kimbap, ramen, and hot dogs on the menu.
Moreover, Jung Yumi, Park Seo Joon, and Choi Wooshik teamed up for Season 1. Also, BTS’ V created a buzz by participating as a part-time employee. As V is currently serving in the military, actor Go Minsi joined the cast for season 2.
In the first season, the highest viewership rating was 9.3% according to Nielsen Korea. As the episodes went on, the ratings dropped, and the final episode concluded with 6.8%.
Previously, CJ ENM officials kept the cast lineup filming location, and schedule confidential. They explained that to ensure a safe and smooth filming process, they couldn’t confirm specific details.
