BTS’s Jungkook and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo grabbed the attention of fans and press at the VIP premiere of The First Ride in Seoul. The event celebrated the upcoming release of the adventure comedy film starring Cha Eunwoo.
While Jisoo showed up in person, Jungkook’s unexpectedly funny and touching gesture for his friend, Cha Eunwoo, ended up stealing the spotlight.
The First Ride is written and directed by Nam Dae Joong and opens in theaters in South Korea on October 29, 2025. The story follows a group of childhood friends who, after 24 years of friendship, finally set out on their first dream trip abroad. Their exciting getaway quickly turns into chaos when an unexpected guest joins them.
The movie is led by Kang Ha Neul, Kim Young Kwang, Cha Eunwoo, Kang Young Seok, and Han Sun Hwa.
Since Eunwoo is currently serving his mandatory military service, he couldn’t attend the premiere of his own film. Jungkook, his close friend and fellow ’97 liner, found a creative way to make sure his presence was still felt.
He showed up with a life-size doll of Cha Eunwoo and carried it proudly on the red carpet. Jungkook posed with it for photos, playfully lifted its arm in a salute, and even acted as if the doll were greeting the crowd.
During the red carpet interview, the “Seven” singer shared his reason for attending The First Ride premiere, saying
“I came because I was really curious. Since Eunwoo is my friend, I wanted to see his acting. He told me that during filming, he often thought about the time when we were younger, around our twenties, when we used to hang out a lot. I hope he always takes good care of his health, and I wish him a successful and safe military service. Fighting!!!”
Other BTS members also turned up to support the film. RM and j-hope were spotted among the guests; however, they did not walk the red carpet.
Jisoo was another big name in attendance. She took time out of her busy schedule to be at the premiere. Dressed elegantly, she was accompanied by her zombie comedy Newtopia team and director.
Her appearance came right after the release of her record-smashing duet with Zayn, EYES CLOSED. The song became her first Billboard HOT 100 entry, and she is currently working on a solo album.
Earlier this month, she was one of the most talked-about stars at Paris Fashion Week 2025. At Dior’s Spring/Summer 2026 show, Jisoo turned heads in a black vest layered over a crisp white shirt, styled with a bow tie, balloon-style shorts, and a mint-green handbag.
On top of that, the 30-year-old singer has been busy performing with BLACKPINK on their ongoing world tour. The group recently held three concerts in bandmate Lisa’s hometown, Bangkok.
Meanwhile, other stars present at The First Ride premiere were Oh My Girl’s YooA, Lee Sung Kyung, MJ, Moon Sua, and more.
