KATSEYE is closing out 2025 with one last surprise for fans. Just hours before ringing in the new year, the global girl group announced a brand-new digital single titled “Internet Girl.”
The announcement was shared on December 31, 2025, through the group’s official social media accounts. Along with sleek digital cover art, KATSEYE left a short message for EYEKONs, “We wanted to leave you with one more surprise before this year ends.”
The song will be released on January 2, 2026, at 12 a.m. Eastern Standard Time and will be available as a digital single on streaming platforms.
So far, the group has not revealed details about the song’s sound, concept, or whether a music video will be released. However, some fans may already be familiar with the track. KATSEYE previously performed an unreleased version of “Internet Girl” during their North American tour in November 2025. The unreleased song received a strong response from live audiences.
The surprise release comes at the end of an extraordinary year for the group. In December 2025, KATSEYE was named TikTok’s Global Artist of the Year. KATSEYE ranked number one globally, finishing ahead of artists such as Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Stray Kids, Enhypen, and Alan Arietta.
Their success in 2025 was not limited to social media. In May 2025, KATSEYE earned their first Billboard Hot 100 entry with the viral single “Gnarly,” which debuted at number 79. Later in the year, the group scored a major breakout hit with “Gabriela.” The song peaked at number 31 on the Hot 100 in November and stayed on the chart for over 20 consecutive weeks, even during the competitive holiday season.
The track is part of KATSEYE’s EP “BEAUTIFUL CHAOS,” which debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200. By mid-November 2025, the EP had surpassed one billion streams on Spotify.
In November 2025, KATSEYE received their first Grammy nominations for the upcoming 68th Annual Grammy Awards. They were nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Gabriela.” It is one of the rare times an act connected to the K-pop system has been recognized in one of the Grammy Awards’ major general categories.
The members shared their shock and excitement after the announcement. Manon joked that they were “throwing up, crying, freaking out,” while Lara spoke about the years of effort, sacrifice, and hard work that led to this moment.
The group has already appeared at festivals such as Lollapalooza and Summer Sonic, and they are now officially confirmed to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2026.
As KATSEYE looks ahead to the Grammy Awards in February and Coachella in April, “Internet Girl” marks the first release of 2026. All eyes are now on January 2 when “Internet Girl” drops on major music platforms.
