Lara is ‘half fruitcake’!

In K-pop industry, where artists rarely talk about their sexuality and personal lives, KATSEYE member Lara is boldly speaking her truth.

More recently, the 19-year-old K-pop star talked about her sexuality in the most adorable way, calling herself ‘half fruitcake’.

Lara publically came out as bisexual via Weverse DM. She revealed, “I knew  I was half fruitcake when I was like 8 so i really was wanting everybody. Honestly probably before 8.”

She added, “Isn’t “half fruitcake” such a good way to explain it without saying it?” Lara is being called incredibly courageous for coming out as K-pop idols often maintain a clean-cut image and avoid discussing personal matters, especially those related to sexuality.

Fans are praising her for speaking the truth despite the risk of backlash from fans and sections of the industry who may not be accepting of LGBTQ+ identities.

Meanwhile, Lara debuted as a member of KATSEYE last year with the single “Debut”. They gained global fame with their lead single “Touch” from 1st mini-album “SIS (Soft is Strong)”, dropped in June.
