Kim Jae Joong recently made a provocative statement on his show Jaefriends, suggesting that TXT has the potential to surpass BTS’s success.
This comment has sparked a heated debate among K-pop fans, with some agreeing that TXT’s talent and dedication make them a strong contender, while others argue that BTS’s reign is unlikely to be challenged.
On April 25, Jaefriends ep 37 was uploaded on uhmg’s YouTube channel, featuring TXT’s Beomgyu and Yeonjun as guests. Fans were thrilled to see Yeonjun and Beomgyu on the show, and they engaged the viewers with their honest and unfiltered conversation style.
While talking to TXT members, he shared his excitement seeing their song, Deja Vu, on the K-POP HOT 100 MV. Jae Joong went on to say, “The overall feeling that I got was.. Is it too much for me to say? People said that there wasn’t a group to come after BTS. But there is right here.”
Then, he added, “People said no one would beat Seo Taiji then H.O.T came out. And H.O.T was unbeatable then we [TVXQ] came out.”
What he said next sparked debate among fans, “And for the world-class BTS, the bar was set too high, but people say ‘there’s TXT.’”
Lots of K-pop fans acknowledge TXT’s achievements but believe that the success of HYBE and K-pop is mainly thanks to BTS.
