The announcement was made on November 6 through the premiere episode of her new documentary series “Charging Crystals.” The docu series was released on BANA’s official YouTube channel. The series offers an in-depth look at the making of “Solitary.” It shows Krystal’s creative process and how the project came together.

Also, viewers get to see her recording in San Francisco with singer-songwriter and producer Toro y Moi, as well as shooting and writing sessions in London and Jeju. The documentary highlights Krystal’s personal journey back into music after several years away from the stage.”

Her agency, Beasts and Natives Alike (BANA), shared that physical album pre-orders will open on November 13 at 3 p.m. KST and close at midnight on November 21 KST. “Solitary” is described as an introspective project that reflects Krystal’s emotions and artistic growth

This release is a major moment for Krystal Jung, who first debuted in 2009 as the youngest member of f(x) under SM Entertainment. After her contract with SM ended in 2020, Krystal signed with H& Entertainment to focus on her acting career. In February 2024, she officially joined BANA, where her long-discussed musical return was officially confirmed.

Although she has spent the past few years building a strong acting portfolio, fans have continued to hope for her musical comeback. The 31-year-old star appeared in dramas like Search, Crazy Love, and the film Cobweb, which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

She has previously participated in special projects such as SM the Ballad, but “Solitary” marks her first official solo debut as a recording artist.

“Solitary” holds special meaning for both Krystal and her fans. It represents a new beginning for an artist who has always balanced music and acting. The album reportedly features collaborations with producers from Korea, the U.S., and the U.K.

Mark your calendar for November 27 when Krystal Jung releases “Solitary” on music platforms.
