The thought of BTS V being one of the players or in any role in the acclaimed series “Squid Game” is pretty exciting to ARMYs.
The 29-year-old K-pop star appears to be pretty close with Lee Jung Jae, who is the leading character of “Squid Game.”
Lee Jung Jae has shared multiple photos with V on his Instagram. He has also shown his support for V’s music by reacting to his “FRI(END)S” music video, which was released in early 2024.
Lately, there were rumors that the “Love Me Again” singer will join the cast of “Squid Game 3”, slated to release in summer this year.
In an interview with Buzzfeed UK, Lee Jung Jae and Wi Ha Joon were asked if V was joining the “Squid Game 3”. Lee playfully responded, “I can’t tell you anything about that.” Wi Ha Joon also weighed in, saying, “No comment.”
Their response has intensified the buzz around BTS V’s potential appearance in the upcoming season. The K-pop idol is a fan of the show and previously sported a “Squid Game” outfit at a concert before.
Seasons 2 and 3 of the show were filmed in advance and it is speculated that V filmed his part before enlisting in the military.
On another note, while season 2 did not receive critical acclaim, it is the #1 show in all regions on Netflix. It surpassed “Wednesday” with the most number of hours (68) watched in the debut week. Previously, Netflix accidentally revealed the release date for season 3 when sharing the poster. As per the now-deleted post, “Squid Game” season 3 will be available on Netflix on June 27.
Meanwhile, BTS V will return to civilian life after completing military service on June 10.
