The Lovelyz-turned-variety star Lee Mijoo got real about a painful Christmas betrayal on SBS’s “Real Talk.”
The 31-year-old K-pop star revealed that her ex cheated on her with another girl group member. On February 16, she appeared on the SBS entertainment program that airs every Monday at 10:10 PM, alongside Lim Woo Il and Jo Hyun Ah. The show is hosted by EXO’s Kai, Lee Suji, Lee Sang Min, and Tak Jae Hoon.
During the conversation, Mijoo revealed a painful experience from the past. “It was a long time ago,” Lee said. She explained that one year, she couldn’t meet her boyfriend on Christmas because something unexpected came up. She told him in advance that she wouldn’t be able to see him. The next day, she received a phone call from a friend.
She continued, “A friend asked me, ‘Do you know that guy?’ and then asked what kind of person he was. I told them he was actually my boyfriend.”
She went on to reveal, “My friend said, ‘Your boyfriend called an Unnie (female senior) from my group out on Christmas and went out with her. But she still hasn’t come back.’”
The boyfriend who had told her he couldn’t meet on Christmas was apparently spending time with someone else.
She said she contacted him immediately, but he denied everything. Lee Mijoo added, “I didn’t have concrete evidence, but I was sure.” Since he continued to deny it, she decided to end the relationship: “I really didn’t want to break up, but I felt so upset and betrayed.”
Mijoo has spoken about her love life before. In April 2024, she confirmed she was dating soccer player Song Bum Keun. It was her first public relationship since her debut. She even talked about it on Hangout with Yoo, where she is a regular cast member.
However, breakup rumors surfaced in January 2025, nine months after public confirmation. Her agency, Antenna, described it as a personal matter. Mijoo later confirmed on her YouTube channel “Just Mi-joo” that they were no longer together.
When a fortune teller asked if she had dated the previous year, she answered, “I dated last year.” When asked if they were still together, she said, “Not anymore.”
The fortune teller also commented that Mijoo’s breakups tend to happen in winter, especially around February and March. The Lovelyz member responded with humor, asking, “When did I break up? Can you check the articles for me?” Despite the joke, she admitted that she has often been the one who gets dumped. “I’ve been dumped a lot. I almost always get dumped,” she said in that same session, then added playfully, “Why do they do that? Why do they dump me?”
In July 2025, she was also caught up in dating rumors with Hanwha Eagles player Lee Jinyoung.
Reports claimed they were a couple with a three-year age gap after spotting similarities in photos and her known support for the Hanwha Eagles. Antenna quickly denied the rumor, stating that it was completely unfounded and that the two did not even know each other.
Meanwhile, Mijoo first debuted as a member of Lovelyz before building a strong career in variety shows and online content.
