After a thrilling first season, “Fresh Off The Sea” is back with a fresh new lineup – and we’re not just talking about the seafood. Two of K-drama’s brightest stars, Lim Ji Yeon and Lee Jae Wook, join the cast of “Fresh Off The Sea” season 2.
On January 9, a tvN official told Xports News, “It’s true that Lim Ji Yeon and Lee Jae Wook will be appearing on ‘Fresh Off The Sea 2’.” They added, “However, the specific filming schedule and broadcast date have not been determined yet.”
“Fresh Off The Sea” is a reality show that aired on tvN from July to October 2024. It is a unique fishing village program that features a range of sea-related activities and seasonal local specialties.
The first season featured Yeom Jung Ah, Park Joon Myun, Ahn Eun Jin, and Dex. Following the season’s conclusion, tvN revealed in December 2024 that the season 2 is slated for release in 2025.
Lim Ji Yeon and Lee Jae Wook have replaced Ahn Eun Jin and Dex as new cast members. This will be their first appearance as cast in an entertainment program since their debut.
Lim Ji Yeon rose to stardom with her appearance in the Netflix Original “The Glory” and has since appeared in many notable works. She returned to the big screen last year with the movie “Revolver”, which also stars Ji Chang Wook and Jeon Do Yeon.
Lim is currently starring in her first historical drama “The Tale of Lady Ok”. The drama premiered on November 30, 2024, and is set to conclude on January 26. She is in talks to star in a new rom-com opposite “Squid Game” actor Lee Jung Jae.
On the other hand, Lee Jae Wook recently appeared in Disney+’s “Impossible Heir” and “Death’s Game”. He rose to fame in tvN’s hit drama “Alchemy of Souls” season 1 and 2. Next, Lee will appear in the Netflix drama “Hong-Rong” (working title) opposite Jo Bo Ah.
Meanwhile, tvN will announce the premiere date for the variety show “Fresh Off The Sea.”
