A new Korean drama with fantasy and romance is set to charm viewers later this month. No Tail to Tell is a light and whimsical romantic comedy that puts a fresh spin on the classic gumiho, or nine-tailed fox, legend. The series stars Kim Hye Yoon and Lomon, who play two very different characters whose unexpected meeting completely changes their lives.
The drama is developed by Studio S and produced by Binge Works and MOG Films. It is directed by Kim Jung Kwon, who previously helmed Love to Hate You and Maestra: Strings of Truth. The script is written by Park Chan Young and Jo Ah Young, the duo behind the popular Best Chicken. The production team says that while many dramas have used gumiho stories before, this one will feel modern, chaotic, and fun.
No Tail to Tell Release Date and Where to Watch
Lomon and Kim Hye Yoon No Tail to Tell will premiere on Friday, January 16, 2026, in South Korea. The fantasy drama will air on SBS every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m. KST.
International viewers will be able to watch the drama on Netflix, and new episodes are expected to follow the Korean broadcast schedule. The series will have 12 episodes, each about 70 minutes long, with the final episode set to air on February 21, 2026.
Story Overview
The story follows Eun Ho, played by Kim Hye Yoon, a quirky gumiho who has lived for centuries on Mount Myohyang. Unlike other fox spirits who dream of becoming human, Eun Ho does everything she can to avoid it.
She loves her immortal life and fears losing her youth, freedom, and supernatural powers. To stay a gumiho, she avoids doing good deeds and keeps her distance from love, and focuses instead on enjoying human luxuries and building wealth.
Her carefully controlled life falls apart after a strange accident involving Kang Si Yeol, played by Lomon. Si Yeol is a world-famous soccer striker at the top of his career. He is known for his talent, discipline, and very high opinion of himself. His entire life revolves around soccer, and he has no room for anything that might distract him.
After their paths cross, something unbelievable happens. Eun Ho suddenly turns into a normal human. She loses her powers and immortality and is forced to face emotions, relationships, and responsibilities she has avoided for hundreds of years.
