SBS has officially set the premiere date for its new fantasy romantic comedy Human From Today. Starring Kim Hye Yoon and Lomon, the drama will air for the first time at 9:50 p.m. on January 16, 2026. It will take over the Friday–Saturday time slot that was previously held by Taxi Driver 3.
This series marks Kim Hye Yoon’s long-awaited return to television after the massive success of Lovely Runner. Plus, it reunites her with Lomon, one of the most talked-about rising stars in the industry.
Human From Today mixes romance, comedy, and Korean folklore in a modern setting. Kim Hye Yoon plays Eun Ho, a quirky gumiho who enjoys the perks of eternal youth and the freedom of the human world. She doesn’t want to become fully human, and she avoids doing good deeds or getting too involved with men because she believes it will turn her into an ordinary person.
Her peaceful routine is disrupted by Kang Si Yeol, a world-class but hilariously narcissistic soccer star played by Lomon. His life seems perfect from the outside, but everything collapses when he crosses paths with Eun Ho.
The story kicks off when the two characters get caught in an unexpected accident that forces Eun Ho to become human overnight. The drama follows her as she tries to adjust to emotions, responsibilities, and everyday life for the first time in centuries. At the same time, her strange connection with Si Yeol starts to grow in unexpected ways.
Jang Dong Joo appears as Hyun Woo Seok, a former soccer prodigy whose life changed dramatically after an accident. Lee Si Woo plays Geum Ho, a character with a deep link to Eun Ho’s past. Choi Seung Yoon takes on the villain role as Lee Yoon, a ruthless fourth-generation chaebol heir.
Behind the camera, the production team is already raising expectations. The drama is directed by Kim Jung Kwon, known for stylish and well-paced series like Maestra: Strings of Truth and Love to Hate You. The script is written by Park Chan Young and Jo Ah Young, the duo who created the warmly received The Best Chicken. Production is handled by Binge Works, which previously produced My Demon, together with Studio S.
Work on the drama began long before the premiere announcement. The cast held their first script reading in late September 2024, and SBS released footage from that session on its YouTube channel, SBS Catch. The series was originally supposed to air in late 2025 but was pushed to early 2026 due to internal changes in SBS’s programming lineup.
Mark your calendar for January 16, 2026, when Human From Today airs on SBS.
