The members of one of the biggest K-pop groups will be making their highly-anticipated comeback after completing their military service. Certainly, fans can not wait for their favorite K-pop artists to resume activities.

In South Korea, it’s a requirement for all able-bodied men between the ages of 18 to 35 to serve in the military for a period of 18 months. It can be tough for fans when their favorite artists have to take a break from performing on stage for a year and a half due to mandatory military service.

Well, some of the artists will be making a comeback to the limelight this year. Here are some K-pop artists discharged from the military in 2024

Jin of BTS

Jin, the oldest member of BTS, was the first one to begin military service back in December 2022. The Astronaut singer is nearing the end of his military service. He will be discharged from the military this June.

As per reports, Jin will be releasing a debut solo album in 2024. In a heartfelt message shared by the BTS vocalist on New Year, he asked fans to ‘Wait just a bit more’ and expressed his determination to work hard.

Wonho of MONSTA X

Wonho of MONSTA X began his military service as a public service worker on December 5, 2022. The term of serving as a public service worker is three months longer than the regular military service, lasting for a total of 21 months.

Therefore, MONSTA X’s Wonho is expected to be discharged from military service on September, 04. Back in November 2023, Hyungwon of MONSTA X also enlisted in the military.

Jaeyoon of SF9

SF9’s Jaeyoon enlisted as an active duty soldier in the 3rd division of the army on March 21, 2023. He was the third member to enlist after Youngbin and Inseong.

No official events was held on the day of his enlistment and he will discharged on September 19, 2024.

Mino of WINNER

Mino aka Song Minho would also be making a return to the music scene this year. The 30-year-old rapper enlisted in the military on March 24, 2023.

Before enlisting in the military, he penned a heartfelt letter saying that he would not be able to greet his fans often for a little while. As per reports, he will be discharged from the military on September 22.

Minhyuk of MONSTA X

Minhyuk of MONSTA X announced that he would be enlisting in the military through a handwritten letter last year. All members of MONSTA X gathered to see him off on April 4.

Since his military enlistment officially began on 4th April, Minhyuk is scheduled to be discharged on October 3, 2024.

J-Hope of BTS

Besides Minhyuk, J-Hope of BTS will also be resuming musical activities in October 2024. The BTS rapper and main dancer began his military service on April 18 and is slated to be discharged on October 17.

Despite being in the military, he keeps updating fans on Weverse. More recently, J-Hope penned a long letter and wished ARMYs a happy new year.

Jinyoung of GOT7

GOT7’s Jinyoung was enlisted in the military on May 8 and his bandmates Yugyeom and Jay B were there to send him off. Undoubtedly, it was an emotional day for Ahgases as the K-pop idol said goodbye to his fans for the next 18 months.

He will be joining the entertainment industry after fulfilling his military duties this year. Jinyoung will be returning to the limelight on November 4.

Jay B of GOT7

Jay B aka Lim Jae Beom, the leader of GOT7 enlisted in the military prior to his bandmate Jinyoung. The K-pop idol quietly began his military service as a social service worker in early February 2023.

Moreover, he donated 60 million before military enlistment. Like Jinyoung, he is also scheduled to return in early November.

Seungyoon of WINNER

Seungyoon was the final member of the group to enlist in the military on June 20, 2023. He made headlines when Jin of BTS shared photos with him from the military training camp.

Jin, who is serving as an assistant instructor, congratulated Seungyoon on Weverse for completing his basic military training. He is expected to return on December 20, 2024.
