Singer and producer MC Mong and One Hundred Label Chairman Cha Ga Won have both denied reports alleging an extramarital affair and a 12 billion won financial dispute. Both sides have announced plans to take legal action.

On December 24, One Hundred Label released an official statement responding to media reports. The agency said that after checking the facts, both the article and the KakaoTalk messages were false.

According to One Hundred Label, the controversy involves Cha Jun Young, a relative of Chairman Cha Ga Won. The company stated that Cha Jun-young threatened MC Mong in an attempt to force him to sell his shares. The goal was allegedly to take over the management rights of Big Planet Made Entertainment, a subsidiary of One Hundred.

The label explained that the disputed messages were fabricated by MC Mong under duress and later provided to the media by Cha Jun Young.

One Hundred Label said that after the article was released, MC Mong contacted the company to apologize. The agency confirmed it will take strong legal action against both Cha Jun Young and the media outlet that first reported the claims.

The company also stated

We promise to respond with a strict zero-tolerance policy, without any leniency, to malicious slander and the spread of false information targeting our artists and management. We sincerely ask that you refrain from groundless speculation and defamatory reporting.

Earlier that same day, The Fact published a report presenting a different account. The report claimed that MC Mong and the married Chairman Cha Ga Won were in a romantic relationship for several years.

According to the report, the relationship allegedly ended after a major argument in May this year. It also claimed that from July 2022 to May 2025, Chairman Cha transferred approximately 12 billion won to MC Mong through hundreds of personal bank transactions.

The amounts reportedly started small and increased over time. The report further alleged that Chairman Cha gave MC Mong luxury gifts worth billions of won. It also mentioned claims related to pregnancy discussions.

The Fact reported that Chairman Cha later filed a lawsuit demanding the return of the 12 billion won, describing it as a loan. The court issued a payment order, which became final after MC Mong did not file an objection within the legal period.

MC Mong denied the affair allegations through his social media, saying he did not have an “inappropriate relationship” with chairman Cha. He also stated that he is “currently seeing someone else.”

Regarding the money, he explained that it is not a lawsuit related to an affair, but a legitimate debt he must repay. He also claimed that messages shown in the media were reinterpreted or altered. He said some messages were ones he created to protect himself and were later reshaped by Cha Jun Young, related individuals, and nearby managers before being used in the article. MC Mong later deleted the post.

MC Mong debuted in 1998 as a member of People Crew before beginning his solo career in 2004. In 2010, he was accused of draft dodging and went through a long trial and stopped his activities. In May 2012, the Supreme Court acquitted him. After that, he focused on producing.

In July 2023, MC Mong co-founded One Hundred Label with Chairman Cha Ga Won. He served as executive producer for the girl group BAD VILLAIN under Big Planet Made Entertainment.

In June 2025, MC Mong was suddenly removed from all his producer roles for unspecified personal reasons. The following month, he announced plans to study abroad, citing health concerns and personal development. He said he was leaving all company matters to Chairman Cha.

This controversy comes during a difficult period for One Hundred Label. The company has also faced public disputes involving other artists, including Yong Jun Hyung and Ju Haknyeon, a former THE BOYZ member.

Both MC Mong and One Hundred Label continue to insist that the affair allegations and KakaoTalk manipulation claims are false. Legal action is now expected to follow.
