Minnie of i-dle is set to make her Korean film debut. As reported by My Daily on February 27, the 28-year-old Thai K-pop star has been confirmed to star in the upcoming movie “Original Drug Rice Cake Shop.”

Based on the French movie “Paulette”, it tells the story of Ahn Bok Ja, a rice cake shop owner who accidentally witnesses a drug deal. Actress Ra Mi Ran will play Ahn Bok Ja, while Go Kyung Pyo takes on the role of Woo Ho Jae, a man who becomes involved in the drug case.

Minnie has reportedly been offered the role of a Thai café owner who runs a shop near the rice cake store. The movie will be directed by Kim Kyung Yoon, a graduate of the Korea National University of Arts. Kim will make his first feature-length film directorial debut.

Born in Thailand, Minnie debuted in 2018 as a member of (G)I-dle, now known as i-dle. She first tried acting in 2021 through the Netflix sitcom “So Not Worth It.” The series follows multinational students living together in a university dorm in Seoul.

Minnie played Minni, a Thai student who loves Korean dramas and dreams about romance. She shared in an interview with W Korea that the character felt similar to her real self. She revealed that she was once a passionate fan of Super Junior and even attended their concert in Thailand.

In August 2025, Minnie took on her first leading film role. She was cast as the female lead in the Thai remake of the romantic comedy “50 First Dates.” The original 2004 film starred Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore and told the story of a man who falls in love with a woman who suffers from short-term memory loss.

The Thai version pairs Minnie with well-known Thai actor Nadech Kugimiya. Director Mez Tharatorn leads the film, with a screenplay written by Thodsapon Thiptinnakorn and Benjamaporn Srabua. Producers include Jira Maligool and Vanridee Pongsittisak, known for their work on “Bad Genius.” Filming began in October 2025.

Meanwhile, Minnie’s group recently held “Syncopation in Seoul” at the KSPO Dome last weekend. The tour will continue in Taipei on March 7, followed by stops in Bangkok, Melbourne, Sydney, and more cities.
