Taeil was involved in a motorcycle accident while returning home from a schedule in the early morning hours. On August 15, SM Entertainment confirmed that the NCT member sustained a fracture in his right thigh and would require surgery. As a result, he would be halting all activities to focus on his recovery.
The accident occurred just days before NCT’s scheduled concert, ‘NCT Nation: To The World,’ set for August 26. SM Entertainment announced that Taeil would not be participating in the concert to prioritize his health and recovery. The agency assured fans that they would provide updates on his condition and that his well-being was their top priority.
Following the accident, he has since undergone the necessary operation and is now in the process of recovery. SM Entertainment expressed gratitude for fans’ concern and support during this time. The agency emphasized that Taeil’s health and safety were paramount and that they would continue to monitor his progress closely.
Fans of NCT and Taeil have expressed their well-wishes and support through social media platforms, with many using the hashtag #GetWellSoonTaeil to show their support. In June, another NCT member, Johnny, took a break from NCT activities due to a shoulder injury.
As of now, there have been no further updates on his condition or timeline for his return to activities. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for official announcements from SM Entertainment regarding his recovery and future plans.
On the work front, SM revealed earlier this year that NCT 127 will drop their fifth full album in the fall, followed by a special album in December. Before that, fans can check Disney+’s documentary on NCT titled NCT 127: The Lost Boys, coming out on August 30.
To make up for his absence, NCT will be releasing their 4th album ‘Golden Age’ on various music platforms on August 28 at 6 pm (KST).
