Ten from NCT/WayV held a showcase to celebrate the launch of his first mini album TEN. The event took place at Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of February 13, marking the official beginning of his solo career.
Ten shared his feelings of nervousness, expressing that he is extremely anxious. He mentioned that although he has performed solo songs in the past, this is the first time he is officially releasing them. He expressed how he has eagerly awaited this moment for a long time.
It was revealed that this album has been in the works for around two years. Ten put a lot of effort into every aspect, from the musical direction to the clothing choices. Throughout the album, he expressed his opinions and paid meticulous attention to every detail.
Regarding his journey as a soloist, Ten further explained, “I don’t want to decide ‘what kind of artist I want to be’ yet,” and added, “I went into it with the mindset of finding Ten. I want to focus and show who I am right now.”
Ten explained that the reason for choosing the title song was to showcase his diverse side. He mentioned that “‘NightWalker’ perfectly aligned with that theme,” making it the best fit for the album.
When asked about what’s the difference between Ten as a soloist and a member of the group, he explained, “The group interprets the song and thinks about how they can make me fit in. But this time, I first thought about what I wanted to do.”
Ten added, “I took this opportunity to discover Ten. I hope listeners can feel that ‘Ten is an artist who goes well with everything.’”
Ten believes that what makes him unique is his limitless potential. Many people have told him that he is a versatile artist, and he doesn’t want to confine himself to just singing, dancing, or rapping. He wants to explore and expand his abilities, as he sees that as his strength.
As for the ‘solo singer Ten’ he envisions, he mentioned that he is still in the process of discovering it. Right now, his focus is on showcasing his current self as Ten. He wants to concentrate on being true to who he is and letting his true colors shine.
A fan concert is also in the works to celebrate his solo debut. The first leg of his Asia tour will take place in four regions, including Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Jakarta, starting from Seoul on February 16 and 17.
He mentioned that they have prepared stages for all the songs in the album, featuring dances of various genres. Fans can expect a mix of Latin, classical, and even rock genres.
Lastly, Ten’s first solo album will be released today at 6 PM on major music sites.
