Netflix is set to spice up our watchlists with a brand-new romance series, “Boyfriend on Demand” starring K-pop sensation Jisoo and Seo In Guk.
It was previously reported that the show, initially slated to air on MBC, will premiere on Netflix.
“Boyfriend on Demand” is a romantic comedy that tells the story of Mi Rae, a webtoon producer who’s fed up with the dating scene. She discovers a virtual dating app where she can “subscribe” to boyfriends and experience dating in a completely new way. The show cleverly combines this virtual world with the everyday struggles of office life.
Jisoo plays Seo Mi Rae, a webtoon producer who has given up on dating due to her hectic life. However, when she discovers the “Boyfriend on Demand” service, she enters a virtual world where she can date impossibly perfect men. Mi Rae’s story explores the struggle to balance the demands of real life with the desire for meaningful connection.
Seo In Guk plays Park Kyung Nam, a talented webtoon producer who works with Seo Mi Rae. While she finds him annoying, others admire his work ethic. Kyung Nam has a mysterious side, and Seo In Guk’s performance is expected to bring this complex character to life.
“Boyfriend on Demand” will be directed by Kim Jung Sik, known for his humorous and relatable storytelling in “Drink Now, Work Later” and “No Gain No Love”. All eyes are on how he and the cast will bring this hugely awaited romantic comedy to life.
“Boyfriend on Demand”, a new romantic comedy series, will be available exclusively on Netflix. The show is produced by a team specializing in romantic comedies and features a talented cast.
Meanwhile, “Boyfriend on Demand” starring Jisoo and Seo in Guk is expected to premiere in early 2026 as it was not part of Netflix’s 2025 lineup.
