Netflix has officially announced production for an upcoming romantic K-drama “Lovestuck”. It stars Jung Hae In (“D.P.”, “Something in the Rain”) and rising actress Ha Young (“The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call”).
On May 14, the streaming giant released photos from the script reading session featuring the lead cast on its official social media channel. Fans eagerly await “Lovestuck” as Jung Hae In returns to romantic comedy and Ha Young follows up his recent success in “The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call”.
“Lovestuck” Plot
Netflix’s upcoming romantic comedy “Lovestuck” follows an unlikely cohabitation between amnesiac prosecutor Go Eun Sae and boxing coach Jang Tae Ha, who insists he is her boyfriend. When Eun Sae loses her memory, Tae Ha seizes the chance to convince her they’re in a relationship.
Cast and Characters
Jung Hae In plays Jang Tae Ha, a character with a complex past. He is a former youth boxing champion turned gangster who later leaves the organization to become a boxing coach in a small town.
His life takes an unexpected turn when he is on his final mission and meets his first love, Go Eun Sae, played by Ha Young, who has amnesia. Tae Ha claims to be her boyfriend, and they start living together in a countryside village filled with traditional Korean taffy shops.
Jung Hae In is back with another romance project, following his standout performances in dramas like “Something in the Rain” and “One Spring Night”. Last year, he proved his romantic comedy chops with a swoon-worthy role in “Love Next Door”.
Ha Young stars as Go Eun Sae, a sharp and accomplished prosecutor in the Anti-Corruption Investigation Department. Her promising career takes a drastic turn when she is involved in an accident, leaving her with amnesia. With no memory of her identity or past, she finds herself in a quaint rural hospital surrounded by candy shops. That’s where she meets Jang Tae Ha, a man who claims to be her boyfriend.
This will be Ha Young’s romantic comedy debut, and she is set to appear in another Netflix romcom “Boyfriend on Demand”.
Production Team
Director Kim Jang Han, known for his nuanced storytelling in “Do You Like Brahms?” and “My Demon,” is at the helm. He is reuniting with writer Mo Ji Hye, with whom he collaborated on “You Raise Me Up.”
Meanwhile, “Lovestuck” will premiere on Netflix; no broadcast plans have been announced yet. The drama is now in production.
