As LE SSERAFIM deals with the heat of criticism regarding their singing skills, the public is pointing fingers towards their agency as the root of the problem.

On April 13, LE SSERAFIM took the stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and performed for approximately 40 minutes.

During the Coachella show, the live broadcast stirred up online criticism from netizens. Some users highlighted the group’s performance flaws, suggesting that they should practice more.

Everyone agrees that LE SSERAFIM put on a strong performance, but the debate about their singing ability is still ongoing. Moreover, some believe that the agency HYBE is to blame for the group’s shortcomings in live skills.

It’s not just LE SSERAFIM from Source Music, which is under HYBE, but also some other artists who have faced controversy over their singing skills.

ILLIT, a group that debuted last month, received criticism in the past for their weak live performance abilities.

ILLIT, part of BELIFT LAB, another label under HYBE, worried fans when they sang with an inconsistent pitch during the encore stage after winning first place.

Some argue that HYBE’s ‘factory-style idol system’, which debuts idols even with imperfections in their skills, is the crux of the issue.

All eyes are on whether HYBE, with its multitude of idol groups globally, can resolve the controversy and evolve into an agency dedicated to nurturing exceptionally talented artists.
