Kim Sae Ron’s death has been a shock, and the focus has shifted to rumors about a potential relationship between her and Kim Soo Hyun.
On March 10, the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute (Ga Seyeon) revealed an explosive interview with the deceased grieving family. They claimed that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron dated for six years. Their romance began when Sae Ron was a minor. As the YouTube channel claimed, they began dating in November 2015, when she was 15, in her third year of middle school.
A recently revealed photo shows the “Queen of Tears” actor kissing the late actress on the cheek. According to ‘Ga Seyeon’, this photo was taken on the same day as another photo that Kim Sae Ron had posted and then deleted from her social media.
After the photo went viral, dating rumors were fueled, which were later denied by the agency Gold Medalist. The agency claimed that the photo was taken when they were labelmates.
The late Kim Sae Ron’s letter, written on March 24, 2024, was also made public. She stated, “The previously reported rumors of our relationship were deemed baseless and were reported as such in the news, but that’s not the truth. The photo I posted on my story is from 2016, and the relationship began on November 19, 2015, and ended on July 7, 2021. At the time, I was 16 years old, and the other person was 30 years old. That’s how our six-year relationship came to an end.”
Additionally, Garosero Research Institute claimed that Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, sent her a certified letter demanding repayment of 700 million won. The agency paid 700 million won in damages when she was involved in a drunk driving incident in 2022.
The “Bloodhounds” actress received a certified letter from the agency stating that she was being sued. She sent a message saying, “You told me you’d give me plenty of time, so I’ve been working hard to prepare for my comeback and I’m planning to pay you back gradually, even if it’s just a few percent for each project.” She added, “I’m not saying I won’t pay you back, but I really can’t afford to pay 700 million won right now. I’m not refusing to pay, I just can’t. Do we really have to go to court? Please save me. I beg you. Give me some time.”
During an interview with the YouTube channel, her aunt revealed that Kim Soo Hyun provided financial assistance of 700 million won after she was involved in a drunk driving incident. Although they had already broken up, she was grateful for his help. The aunt clarified that the 37-year-old actor did not ask for repayment, but Kim Sae Ron voluntarily offered to work hard to pay him back.
Additionally, the aunt shared that she received numerous offers for exclusive contracts but chose to join Gold Medalist, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, when it was established. She claimed that the Kdrama actress played a key role in the early days of Gold Medalist, discovering new talent and providing visual direction, as if the company were her own. However, the company disregarded her and threw her away like an ‘old pair of shoes’.
Gold Medalist has rejected all the claims made by the YouTube channel and threatened to pursue legal action.
Kim Sae Ron passed away on February 16, the same day Kim Soo Hyun celebrates his birthday.
