NewJeans (NJZ) is going through a tough time due to the ongoing court battle with their agency ADOR. Member Danielle, who turned 19 today (April 11), shared heartfelt thoughts on MHDHH’s Instagram account on her birthday.
In a long post, the Korean-Australian K-pop idol thanked her fans for giving her strength. She also shared hopes for the future that they will reunite with Bunnies once their indefinite hiatus ends.
On April 11, Danielle expressed her gratitude for the love and support, saying,

Hey Bunnies, I received the letters you sent, and I’m so touched! They made me cry, I have been reading every single one of them, one day at a time because each letter is so precious. EVERY LETTER FEELS SO HEARTFELT AND MEANINGFUL. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!
I can truly feel your comforting words, your encouragement, and all the love you have sent my way. It really moved me to tears. Sometimes, I even wonder if it is okay to receive so much love! That’s why I try my best to be someone you can all be proud of.
We are facing some challenges right now, but I gain so much strength from the communication we share. I really, really wanted to talk to all of you. So, your letters mean the world to me. When I read them, I picture you writing each one… and it feels like you are right there in front of me, speaking directly to me. It’s incredible how it feels like Bunnies know me better than I even understand myself!
There are moments when I don’t fully understand my emotions. Lately, I have been trying to feel them more deeply, and your letters have really helped me connect with myself, making my heart feel full. Thank you so much, my beloved Bunnies…
I know you have been worried, but just thinking about how we will be able to meet again makes everything less difficult. Songs that Bunnies love, songs that make you happy when you listen to them – those moments will come soon when we can enjoy all of that together. Every day, I am eating well, sleeping well, listening to music, spending quality time with my family and the members, and thinking of you all, it makes me happy!

The conflict began in April 2024 when the former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin was accused of attempting to take over and make the label a separate entity from HYBE. By the end of 2024, NewJeans members were also involved and they sided with the former CEO. Min Hee Jin cut all ties with HYBE by resigning from her position as an internal director on November 20, 2024. Over a week later on November 29, NewJeans announced contract termination with ADOR, citing a breach of trust.
In February, they announced a new group name, NJZ, and began independent activities. Soon enough, they had to halt activities as the court granted temporary control to ADOR and prevented them from carrying out activities without the permission of the label.
Instead of moving forward with ADOR, they went on hiatus and filed an objection to the injunction. Meanwhile, the second hearing for ADOR’s exclusive contract lawsuit against NewJeans will be held on June 5.
