Hanni from NewJeans has personally confirmed to attend the upcoming state audit at the National Assembly on bullying and workplace harassment.
On October 9, the 20-year-old K-pop star took to Phonning to inform Bunnies (NewJeans fandom name), saying “And Bunnies… I have decided! I am going to run for the National Assembly! A parliamentary inspection! I am going alone! You don’t need to worry!!”
Hanni added, “I’m doing this for myself, and members, and Bunnies, it would not be hard. I really want to go. The manager and company do not know yet, I have a lot of thoughts but I think it’s right to go attend.”
On September 30, Hanni was announced as a reference witness in the forthcoming audit, which means her attendance is voluntary. Kim Joo Young, the new ADOR CEO, is summoned as a witness. She has to answer questions about managerial abuse and neglect of workplace bullying.
As a witness, it is mandatory for Kim Joo Young to attend, she can not skip the audit by filing the non-attendance notice.
On September 11, NewJeans’ Hanni alleged she was bullied by a HYBE manager and claimed ADOR’s CEO Kim Joo-young failed to address the issue despite her reports.
Lastly, Hanni and Kim Joo Young are scheduled to attend a state audit at the National Assembly on October 25.
