NewJeans’ single How Sweet is a massive hit, even though they faced tough times with the HYBE-ADOR issue and their comeback being overshadowed.

NewJeans’ title track How Sweet entered Melon’s Top 100 at number 7 and Bubble Gum secured a spot at number 14. The title track achieved the highest number of listeners on Melon in a single hour among all K-pop idol songs released in 2024.

How Sweet is a groovy hip-hop track influenced by Miami bass. On the other hand, Bubble Gum, dropped last month, features a laid-back drum pattern and a cool vibe.

As for the single sales, it became the second highest-selling release by a girl group in 2024, selling 811,843 copies on the first day.

It is only trailing behind (G)I-DLE’s 2, released in January, which sold 862,992 copies on the release day.

NewJeans’ How Sweet surpassed the sales achieved by LE SSERAFIM’s EASY (783,358), TWICE’s With YOU-th (758,876), and IVE’s IVE SWITCH (746,118).

The official MV of How Sweet has surpassed 4 million views on YouTube within less than a day of its release.

Lastly, NewJeans will engage in various promotional activities in the coming days and make their Japan debut next month.
