NewJeans’ members have taken a significant step in the midst of the HYBE and ADOR dispute, reportedly filing a petition with the court.

As reported by Yonhap News on May 17, the legal battle between HYBE and ADOR’s CEO Min Hee Jin intensifies as all five members of NewJeans have filed an official plea with the court.

NewJeans members Danielle, Minji, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein have taken a bold step by filing a petition with the court on May 17. This move came on the same day as a court hearing regarding CEO Min Hee Jin’s request to temporarily restrict HYBE’s voting rights. However, the specifics of their petition remain under wraps.

It appears the NewJeans members have chosen to support CEO Min, who they consider their ‘mother’. Their parents also support CEO Min as stated by ADOR. In fact, when HYBE started investigating ADOR last month, Min Hee Jin said that she had discussed the issue with the members and their lawyers, and they had decided to speak out against HYBE’s actions

She claimed that HYBE was severely undermining the achievements of NewJeans, which resulted in their dispute.

NewJeans’ members and their parents appear to be standing together to support ADOR’s CEO.

Previously, the parents emailed HYBE management about the similarities between NewJeans and another girl group ILLIT’s concept. They have also filed a petition in support of ADOR CEO’s injunction case, indicating a shared position among the members, their parents, and CEO Min.

During a court hearing on May 17, HYBE accused Min Hee Jin of not caring about protecting the artists, but instead using them as a shield to protect herself. They said a true ‘mother’ would protect her children from harm, but CEO Min is doing the opposite.

The fate of ADOR’s management, including CEO Min, will be decided at an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting on May 31. The court’s decision on the injunction will be crucial in determining the outcome. Key figures in this dispute, including HYBE Chairman Bang Si Hyuk and NewJeans members, have submitted petitions.

The court’s decision will finally settle the dispute. Both sides are strongly stating their cases, and it’s hard to predict what the court will decide. The public is closely watching to see what happens next.
