NewJeans is back in Korea after wrapping up promotional activities for their Japanese debut in Japan.
Following their announcement as Honorary Ambassadors for Korean Tourism on July 3, NewJeans officially received their appointment on July 11 in a special ceremony.
The ‘Korean Tourism Honorary Ambassador Appointment Ceremony’ took place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Hannam-dong, Seoul, where Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yu In-chon officially appointed NewJeans as ambassador.
Four members of NewJeans – Hanni, Haerin, Minji, and Danielle, attended the prestigious ceremony. Hyein, who has resumed limited activities, was not present at the event.
Regarding their announcement, Minister Yu In-chon shared, “I hope that NewJeans advertisements would impress upon young people worldwide the sophisticated allure of Korean tourism and ignite a desire to experience authentic Korea.”
So far, NewJeans has been recognized with numerous high-profile distinctions, including Honorary Ambassadorships for Korean Tourism, Honorary Seoul Ambassador, PR Ambassador for Incheon Airport Headquarters Customs, Seoul Fashion Week, and Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Commendation.
Despite ADOR’s conflict with parent company HYBE, NewJeans continues to thrive and their popularity remains unshaken.
NewJeans’ back-to-back successful comebacks and their sold-out two-day Tokyo fanmeet prove they’re still one of K-pop’s hottest rising stars.
Lastly, a campaign featuring NewJeans members promoting tourism has already been released on Imagine Your Korea’s YouTube channel.
