Park Bo Gum has been named the new honorary ambassador for Incheon International Airport, one of the world’s busiest travel hubs. The announcement was made on September 15 during an official ceremony at the airport corporation’s main auditorium.
At the ceremony, Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) President Lee Hak Jae presented him with a plaque of appointment. Park will serve in this role for the next three years. This new role comes after being appointed honorary ambassador for Korean Tourism in July.
As an ambassador, Park Bo Gum will take part in campaigns and activities to promote Incheon Airport worldwide. His work will focus on highlighting the airport’s smart services, modern convenience facilities, and major innovation projects.
The decision to appoint the “Good Boy” actor was described as a strategic move. Known as one of Korea’s most respected actors, he has built a reputation for professionalism and integrity that matches the airport’s global image.
This year alone, he starred in two dramas and won multiple trophies at the 2025 Brand of the Year Awards and Blue Dragon Series Awards thanks to his roles in “When Life Gives You Tangerines” and “Good Boy.” He became the first actor host of The Seasons, Park Bo Gum’s Cantabile. Park has also completed a series of fan meetings in 14 cities across Asia and South America.
President Lee Hak Jae praised the actor’s qualities, “By appointing actor Park Bo Gum, who is known in the entertainment industry for his acting talent, star quality, and character, as honorary ambassador, we expect to enhance Incheon Airport’s brand value both domestically and internationally and to strengthen communication with the public.”
Incheon International Airport has long been recognized for its strong customer service and innovative technology. Recently, it expanded its Smart Pass facial recognition system to all gates at Terminals 1 and 2. This allows passengers to go through security, immigration, and boarding using only facial recognition without the need for documents.
Service robots are also in place to guide travelers, transport luggage, deliver food, and assist elderly or disabled passengers, speaking multiple languages to meet international needs. In addition, the airport has been expanding overseas, including winning a major project in Uzbekistan to operate Urgench Airport, its first public-private partnership in Central Asia.
Park Bo Gum joins a notable group of past and current Incheon Airport ambassadors. These include soprano Jo Sumi, Olympic champion Kim Yuna, actors Song Joong Ki and Lee Je Hoon, K-pop group aespa, YouTube creators Pannibottle and Kwak Tube, volleyball star Kim Yeon Kyung, mountaineer Um Hong Gil, and figure skater Cha Jun Hwan.
On the work front, Park Bo Gum will return to the big screen with a historical movie, Dream Journey to the Peach Blossom Land.
