The K-drama world just got more exciting as Amazon Prime Video is stepping into the game with its very first Korean original series, The Confidence Man KR (tentative title). Popular Kdrama actress Park Min Young stars in the Korean adaptation of The Confidence Man JP.
Set to premiere in the second half of 2025, this marks a major move for the streaming giant as it expands its K-content lineup to compete with rivals like Netflix and Disney+.
Fans of Park will see her take on a thrilling new role in this con artist drama, fresh off her success in Marry My Husband.
Amazon Prime Video, available in 198 countries worldwide, is taking its Korean content offerings to the next level. While the platform has previously featured K-dramas in a dedicated Korean section, it’s now producing its first-ever Korean Original series – the tentatively titled Confidence Man KR.
The decision makes perfect sense when you look at the numbers. Park Min Young’s recent drama ‘Marry My Husband’, which aired on Prime Video, topped the charts across Europe, the US, and South America during its run. Over a year after its finale, the show still regularly appears in the platform’s Top 10.
This innovative series introduces viewers to a team of exceptionally skilled con artists who outsmart villains from every corner of society. It blends sharp social commentary with dark humor. The show puts a fresh spin on the crime genre by exposing systemic flaws through clever schemes.
Park Min Young takes center stage as Yoon Yi Rang, the brilliant mastermind leading this unconventional team. As a con artist with genius-level intelligence (ranking in the top 1%), her character promises to deliver both thrilling cons and captivating depth.
The 39-year-old actress is known for iconic roles in What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, Love in Contract, Healer, Forecasting Love and Weather, Her Private Life, and more.
The Confidence Man KR is produced by production company High Ground, known for producing The Heavenly Idol, The Law Cafe, Mouse, and more. The drama is directed by Nam Ki Hoon (Kiss Sixth Sense, Big Bet, Destined With You) and written by Hong Seung Hyun (Criminal Minds).
Meanwhile, filming for The Confidence Man KR started in September 2024, and has recently wrapped up all 12 episodes, with the series set to premiere in the second half of 2025.
