Hui, a member of PENTAGON, has officially parted ways with Cube Entertainment after nine years under the agency.
On July 16, Cube Entertainment confirmed his departure through an official statement. The label expressed deep gratitude to fans for their unwavering support for Hui and PENTAGON over the years. They shared, “After thorough discussions, our exclusive contract with Hui has ended.”
The 31-year-old idol first debuted with PENTAGON in October 2016 as the group’s leader. Since then, he has been an active force behind many of their songs, contributing extensively as a lyricist and composer. Beyond PENTAGON’s music, Hui has built a reputation as a talented producer, working on albums for other artists as well.
Earlier in 2023, several PENTAGON members, including Yeo One, Yan An, Wooseok, Kino, Hongseok, and Yuto, also chose not to renew their contracts with Cube Entertainment.
With Jinho’s recent exit too, Hui and Shinwon were the only remaining members linked to the agency until now. Hui’s departure leaves Shinwon as the last PENTAGON member officially under Cube.
Recently, Hui has also been showing a different side of himself as a cast member of JTBC’s The Gentlemen’s League 4, playing for FC Papa Claus. However, his activities were put on hold due to a fractured nose he suffered while filming.
Cube Entertainment assured fans that, despite the contract ending, they will continue to support Hui as he recovers from his injury. The agency stated, “Although our exclusive contract has come to an end, Cube Entertainment will continue to provide full support during Hui’s recovery from his injury.”
Fans are now eager to see what Hui’s next move will be after he recovers and which agency he might join next.
