Hui will temporarily step away from all scheduled activities due to a sudden injury. On July 10, Cube Entertainment announced that the PENTAGON member fractured his nose while filming for JTBC’s popular entertainment program Let’s Play Soccer Season 4. The accident reportedly occurred during a ball game segment on set the previous day.
According to Cube, Hui was immediately taken to the hospital, where medical staff determined he had suffered a nasal fracture. Doctors advised that he receive sufficient treatment and rest to ensure a full recovery.
As a result, all of Hui’s activities, including filming for Let’s Play Soccer 4, have been put on hold indefinitely.
The agency stated,
Hui was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment and was advised by the medical staff that he needs sufficient rest and recovery. Following the specialist’s opinion, starting with today’s scheduled activities, he will temporarily suspend all activities, including ‘Let’s Play Soccer Season 4,’ and focus on treatment and rest.
This unexpected injury has also affected Hui’s ongoing musical commitments. The 31-year-old idol was part of the cast for the musical ‘Love in the Rain,’ staged by Borderless Company.
The production company confirmed that Hui will not be able to appear in the musical’s final show, which was scheduled for July 13 at 3 p.m. Actor Jong Hyung will now perform the role.
In an official statement, Borderless Company expressed regret over the sudden casting change, saying,
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this sudden change. Actor Hui is very sorry that he cannot be part of the final performance and deeply apologizes to the audience who have been waiting. We also thank actor Jong Hyung for stepping in to perform in the final show.
Hui, whose real name is Lee Hoe-taek, debuted as the leader of PENTAGON in 2016 and is well known for his impressive vocals and producing skills. This year, he has kept busy with both variety shows and musical theater, including ‘Love in the Rain,’ which opened on April 29 and concluded on July 13.
