Prada chooses trendy K-Drama actors to represent its luxury brand.
After Byeon Woo Seok, the Italian luxury house has chosen the talented Kim Soo Hyun as the newest brand ambassador.
On December 19, Prada announced that the “Queen of Tears” actor Kim Soo Hyun would represent the brand as an ambassador.
Prada stated, “Kim Soo Hyun is one of the most recognized actors in Korea and has recently captivated audiences worldwide through the drama ‘Queen of Tears.’ With his outstanding acting skills and versatile charm, he has established himself as a key figure in the Korean drama and film industry, seamlessly transitioning between television and the big screen.”
The 36-year-old actor’s rise to fame began with his breakout role in the 2011 drama “Dream High”. Since then, he has consistently proven himself as a bankable star, delivering hit dramas and movies one after the other. His status as a Hallyu icon skyrocketed in 2013 with his starring role as Do Min Joon in “My Love from the Star”.
Earlier this year, he once again captivated global audiences with his outstanding performance as Baek Hyun Woo in the tvN drama “Queen of Tears”.
The drama broke tvN’s highest viewership record in four years and emerged as the top Korean drama of the year on Netflix. Notably, within the first quarter, “Queen of Tears” racked up an impressive 29.2 million cumulative views and 682.6 million hours of viewing on Netflix.
After the success of “Queen of Tears”, he secured lucrative endorsement deals with Shinhan Financial Group, Bench, Jo Malone London, Dinto Cosmetics, Cuckoo, Homeplus, and more.
On the work front, he is currently filming his new project, “Knockoff”, with Jo Bo Ah, scheduled to premiere next year on Disney+.
