According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated movie ticket network, Citizen of a Kind directed by Park Young-joo had an amazing opening weekend at the box office.

It captured a whopping 363,076 viewers from January 26-28 and ranked first. The total number of viewers has now reached an impressive 504,622.

Citizen of a Kind released on January 24 and immediately claimed the top spot on its first day. It has been holding that position for five days straight, drawing in audiences steadily.

Citizen of a Kind follows the story of Deok-hee, played by Ra Mi Ran, who becomes a victim of voice phishing. Things take a twist when she receives a rescue request from Jaemin, played by Gong Myung, who is a member of the fraudster group.

Alienoid Part 2 directed by Choi Dong-hoon ranked second with 122,910 viewers, and the total number of viewers has now reached an impressive 1,305,963. The first part of Alienoid, released in July 2022, had a cumulative audience of only 1.54 million. Now all eyes are on whether Part 2 will be able to surpass that record.
