Red Velvet’s Seulgi has addressed the recent controversy surrounding her decision to swap shoes with her manager.
On July 13, the 30-year-old K-pop singer personally addressed the controversy and revealed the reason for exchanging shoes with the manager.
She apologized to the manager and the people who were disappointed by her actions yesterday.
Seulgi clarified the reason, stating, “Recently, I got blisters and bruises on my feet from rehearsing.”
She further added, “The shoes I wore at the airport did not have very high heels,” and “So I thought it would be fine and I failed to make sure to bring extra sneakers. That was carelessness on my part that I could not deny.”
The Crown singer admitted that she made the decision without thinking it through, “I was not able to think of another way because of my foot pain, and I felt that I decided on the whim without proper judgment.”
Lastly, she apologized again and vowed to be more careful in the future, “I personally apologized to the manager, and for things like this not to arise moving forward,” and added, “I will be even more careful and pay more attention.”
On July 12, Red Velvet departed for Taiwan, with Seulgi spotted wearing high heels and her manager in sneakers. However, upon arrival in Taiwan, Seulgi had switched into her manager’s sneakers, she was seen wearing high heels, visibly struggling to walk.
