As SEVENTEEN approaches their monumental 10th debut anniversary this May, the group is preparing what promises to be their most meaningful comeback yet. This special release will feature all thirteen members despite Jeonghan and Wonwoo’s military enlistment.
Their agency, PLEDIS Entertainment, previously revealed their comeback date while announcing their 10th debut anniversary plans in “Happy Burstday” video. They will release a full studio album, followed by a new tour, a unit single album, and fun SEVENTEEN content.
On April 28 at midnight, PLEDIS dropped the first trailer “Dare or Death” for their upcoming 5th full-length album “Happy Burstday”. Symbolic phrases like “Face the challenge, burn anew” and “Without challenge, there is no new beginning” hint at a powerful concept.
This comeback isn’t just another release – it’s SEVENTEEN staring down their 10th anniversary and boldly declaring they are nowhere near done. The provocative title “Dare or Death” serves as both a challenge and a promise: they are choosing to push forward rather than fade.
SEVENTEEN has broken multiple records for the past two years, with their 10th mini-album “FML” becoming K-pop’s best-selling album with 6.4 million copies. 2024 was a historic year for the 13-member powerhouse with two commercially successful releases “17 IS RIGHT HERE” and “Spill the Feels”. Both albums achieved triple-million sales and debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 chart.
It was also an emotional year for CARATs as SEVENTEEN’s military enlistment era began with Jeonghan’s enlistment in September 2024 followed by Wonwoo’s enlistment on April 3. More members are scheduled to enlist later this year, likely after the new tour concludes.
The group concluded their 4-month world tour “RIGHT HERE” in February, attracting 1.037 million fans across 30 shows. SEVENTEEN is currently holding fanmeeting “Holiday” in Japan, with upcoming shows in Saitama (May 10-11).
On another note, SEVENTEEN will release 5th album “Happy Burstday” on May 26, the same date they debuted in 2015.
