In 2023, a dating rumor involving SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu and TWICE’s Tzuyu circulated mainly within the K-pop fandom.
Although the rumor didn’t gain widespread attention from international fans at the time, it has recently resurfaced.
Tzuyu, a Taiwanese TWICE member, grabbed attention from local media in 2023 due to rumors about a romantic involvement with SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu.
In 2023, Taiwanese media reported rumors of Tzuyu and Mingyu’s romance, citing similar photos with flowers that went viral on Chinese Weibo, which was later deleted by the SEVENTEEN member.
The rumors suggested the two were rekindling their past relationship, which allegedly began in 2017 and ended in a breakup.
Following the dating rumors reported by Taiwanese media, fans re-examined photos from their Instagram from June to November 2022 to look for potential clues.
There was a vein-y, tan hand similar to Mingyu from one of the lunch posts in June 2022. In addition, vacation photos showed a reflection of a long-haired person taking a photo with his left hand, coincidently, he had long hair at the time and is left-handed.
It is worth noting that their relationship was reported by Taiwanese media, and not officially confirmed or denied by JYP Entertainment or PLEDIS Entertainment.
