Yes, the 32-year-old K-pop idol is headed to the 33rd Paris Olympics. Choi Minho has been named an ‘Olympic Friend’, a role that will see him representing Korea and supporting the Olympic Games.

Previously, Jin of BTS participated in the torch relay on Sunday, 14 July and now Minho will be promoting the event.

He will participate in the Paris Olympics 2024, kicking off on July 26 (local time) as an official IOC Olympic Friend. He will cheer on the Korean team, attend various events, and soak up the electric atmosphere alongside thousands of spectators.

Minho has become the world’s first Olympic Friend, a newly launched program by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) that enables non-athletes and celebrities to promote the Olympic values.

This comes after his previous role as an Olympic Friend for the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games, where he led as a torchbearer in Chuncheon.

He has also previously collaborated with the Olympics for a public diplomacy campaign in November 2017 and delivered a speech at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

On the work front, Minho is set to appear in two exciting new projects; the JTBC weekend drama Family X Melo, premiering on August 10th at 10:30 PM, and his theater debut as Val in the production of Waiting for Godot, opening on September 7th at Yes24 Stage 3.
