Stray Kids continue to make waves globally with their performances at international festivals one after the other. More recently, the 8-member boy band became the first-ever K-pop act to headline Lollapalooza Paris, held in July.
Following this, they embarked on a successful Dome Tour in Japan and delivered an impressive performance at KCON LA 2023. Their momentum has not slowed, as they have been announced as performers for the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) along with TXT.
With this announcement, they join BTS and BLACKPINK as the only K-pop artists to perform at VMAs. Scheduled for September 12, 2023, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, the VMAs will recognize several prominent K-pop acts.
Among the nominees for the Best K-Pop category are Stray Kids with their single S-Class, BLACKPINK (Pink Venom), aespa (Girls), FIFTY FIFTY (Cupid), SEVENTEEN (Super), and TXT (Sugar Rush Ride).
Other categories featuring K-pop nominees include Best Choreography, Best Art Direction, and Best Editing, where BLACKPINK is nominated for Pink Venom.
TXT is nominated in the Push Performance of the Year category for Sugar Rush Ride, while Group of the Year nominees include BLACKPINK, FIFTY FIFTY, NewJeans, SEVENTEEN, and TXT. For Song of the Summer, FIFTY FIFTY (Cupid), Jungkook featuring Latto (Seven), and TXT with Jonas Brothers (Do It Like That) are nominated.
Additionally, Stray Kids member Felix was named a brand ambassador for LV today. This shows the group’s growing influence in the fashion world as Hyunjin was announced ambassador for Versace last month.
