Sul Kyung Gu has joined the cast of the follow-up season of Disney+’s hit series Moving 2. New and exciting casting updates are coming as the drama enters the pre-production stage. The veteran actor was recently seen in the lead role in Disney+’s Hyper Knife and made a cameo in Netflix film, Mantis, starring Squid Game duo Im Siwan and Park Gyu Young.

As reported by My Daily, Sul Kyung Gu will play a brand-new character not seen in the first season. His character will bring fresh energy and depth to the next chapter of the popular superhero drama.

Sul Kyung Gu, known for his memorable performances in films like Phantom and Kill Bok Soon, recently starred in Disney+’s Hyper Knife and will reunite with the platform for Moving season 2. He has recently finished filming the occult movie Rock alongside Jeon Jong Seo.

Another one of his films, Possible Love, is scheduled to be released this year. Big names are associated with Possible Love, including Zo In Sung, Jeon Do Yeon, and Jo Yuri. Before that, fans can see him in action in Netflix’s thriller, Mousetrap, with Ryu Jun Yeol.

Sul Kyung Gu and other cast members are set to begin filming Moving 2 this summer.

Moving, based on the hit webtoon by Kang Full, tells the story of teenagers with hidden superpowers and their parents, who carry painful secrets from the past. The first season, which aired in 2023 with 20 episodes, became a global sensation. It achieved the highest viewership among Korean original content on Disney+ and Hulu during its opening week. The final episode drew more than three times the initial viewership.

It is often described as the ‘Squid Game’ of Disney+. The first season not only broke records but also played a key role in establishing Disney+ as a major platform for Korean superhero dramas.

The new season continues the story of the superpowered teens—Jang Hui Soo, Kim Bong Seok, and Lee Gang Hoon. It will also explore the challenges and dangers that continue to affect them and their families. Reports suggest that Kim Sung Hoon, director of Kingdom, will take over from season one’s Park In Je, though Disney+ has not officially confirmed the director change.

Returning cast members are expected to include Han Hyo Joo, Zo In Sung, Go Youn Jung, Ryu Seung Ryong, and Kim Do Hoon. Alongside Sull Kyung Gu, Yum Jung Ah, and Roh Yoon Seo are also reported to join, although final casting decisions are still in progress.

With production scheduled to begin in June 2026, Moving 2 could potentially premiere in 2027.
