Bright Vachirawit, also known as Vachirawit Chivaaree, has emerged as one of Thailand’s brightest young stars, captivating audiences both domestically and internationally. From his early days appearing in music videos to becoming a leading man in hit TV dramas and films, this multi-talented actor, singer, and entrepreneur represents the exciting new wave of Thai entertainment.

While many international viewers still associate Thai cinema primarily with horror, artists like Vachirawit represent Thailand’s thriving romance and drama scene. As his popularity grows, so does worldwide interest in the country’s vibrant TV and film industry.

If you are new to the “Bright experience” or simply looking to revisit his most impactful roles, this guide highlights 6 essential dramas and movies to add to your watchlist.

Best Bright Vachirawit Dramas to Watch

2gether: The Series (2020)

Role: Sarawat Guntithanon

Genre: Romantic Comedy, Boys’ Love (BL)

Why it’s a must-watch: This is the show that launched Bright into global superstardom. He made his breakthrough as Sarawat in 2gether: The Series, the first installment of what would become a successful franchise.

The romantic comedy follows university student Tine (Metawin Opas-iamkajorn), who convinces the popular Sarawat to pretend to be his boyfriend to ward off an overly persistent admirer, Green (Korawit Boonsri). What begins as a fake relationship gradually develops into real feelings over the course of 13 heartwarming episodes.

While delivering plenty of lighthearted, humorous moments, the series also thoughtfully explores LGBTQ+ themes – from coming out to family and friends to navigating societal expectations about masculinity and sexuality. Sarawat and Tine’s journey feels particularly genuine as they slowly come to terms with their growing attraction.

Bright and Metawin’s undeniable chemistry became the show’s biggest strength. Their immense popularity as an on-screen couple led to a sequel series (Still 2gether) and a movie (2gether: The Movie).

It set a new benchmark for BL dramas and is often cited as a gateway for many new fans into Thai entertainment.

Where to watch: Available on GMMTV’s YouTube channel (often with English subtitles) and on platforms like Viki, iWant TFC, and WeTV.

Still 2gether (2020)

Role: Sarawat Guntithanon

Genre: Romantic Comedy, Boys’ Love (BL)

Why it’s a must-watch: Still 2gether continues the love story that began in 2gether: The Series, based on JittiRain’s popular novel. This sequel finds Sarawat (Bright Vachirawit) and Tine (Win Metawin) comfortably settled into their relationship as second-year university students, no longer pretending to date but genuinely in love.

The new challenges they face feel more mature and realistic when their respective clubs (Tine’s cheer squad and Sarawat’s music group) compete for practice space. Tensions rise that test both their relationship and the friendship between their clubs. Rather than the will-they-won’t-they tension of the first series, Still 2gether explores whether their young love can survive its first real obstacles.

Bright and Metawin’s natural chemistry evolves beautifully here; their performances feel more grounded and lived-in.

Despite the common notion that sequels often don’t live up to their prequels, Still 2gether proved to be just as beloved as the original.

Where to watch: Also available on GMMTV’s YouTube channel, iWant, WeTV, and Viki.

F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers (2021-2022)

Role: Thyme (Akira Paramaanantra)

Genre: Romantic Drama, School Life

Why it’s a must-watch: While 2gether gave him the taste of success, it was his iconic role in F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers that made Bright Vachirawit mainstream. Unlike his usual charming romantic lead roles, the 27-year-old actor portrays Thyme, the arrogant, hot-headed, privileged bully and leader of the elite F4 group at their high school. Together with his three equally popular friends (played by Thailand’s rising “It Boys”), they rule the school’s social hierarchy.

The story takes an interesting turn when Gorya (Tontawan Tantivejakul), a strong-willed student, boldly stands up to the F4’s bullying ways. As Thyme, he shows impressive range, gradually revealing his character’s hidden vulnerability while maintaining his rough edges. The growth of Thyme as the story progresses feels natural and compelling. The drama was a massive hit across Asia.

Where to watch: Available on YouTube (GMMTV official uploads) and streaming platforms like Viu and iWant TFC.

Astrophile (2022)

Role: Kimhan

Genre: Romantic Drama

Why it’s a must-watch: In Astrophile, Bright plays Kimhan, a lonely artist who reunites with his childhood friend, played by the acclaimed actress Davika Hoorne. Kimhan is a smooth-talking yet surprisingly vulnerable character who finds himself caught in a love triangle. When he discovers details about Nubdao’s past, he uses them in his playful pursuit to win her over, much to the frustration of Tankhun (played by Jumpol Adulkittiporn), Nubdao’s producer, who also secretly loves her.

What makes Bright so compelling in this role is how effortlessly he balances Kimhan’s confident exterior with moments of genuine sincerity. Even as his character schemes to get the girl, Bright keeps him likable – you can’t help but root for him despite his antics. The 18-episode romantic comedy showcases his natural comedic timing and ability to carry a series, proving he is more than just a pretty face.

Where to watch: Available on GMMTV’s YouTube channel.

Congrats My Ex! (2023)

Role: Tim

Genre: Romantic Comedy, Movie

Why it’s a must-watch: In Congrats My Ex!, Bright Vachirawit stars as Tim, a wedding photographer caught in a hilarious romantic tangle. The film follows wedding planner Risa (Ranee Campen), whose professional crisis turns personal when she discovers her ex is getting married – and worse, she has to work with another ex (Tim) on the event.

The movie mixes Thai and Indian comedy styles as Risa tries to handle this messy situation professionally. Bright gets to show off his natural charm and humor as Tim, who becomes Risa’s unlikely helper during the chaotic wedding preparations.

This became one of Bright’s most successful movie roles, reaching the top 10 on Thailand’s Amazon Prime Video. It proves he can play both funny and sweet characters perfectly, showing why he has become such a popular star. The film gives fans exactly what they love about Bright – his great smile, comic timing, and ability to make any character likable.

Love You To Debt (2024)

Role: Bo

Genre: Romantic Comedy, Drama, Movie

Why it’s a must-watch: This recent film sees Bright in a lead role as Bo, a debt collector who falls in love with his target. It is a remake of 2014 South Korean film, Man in Love, and topped Top 10 Thai Films on Netflix. Bright Vachirawit stars as a ruthless debt collector who works for a local loan shark, spending his days intimidating shop owners to collect payments. His life takes an unexpected turn when he meets a kind-hearted woman (Urassaya Sperbund) caring for her sick father and drowning in medical debt. Seeing her desperate situation, he offers an unusual deal – he will help with her debt if she agrees to pretend to be his girlfriend.

What begins as a business arrangement slowly blossoms into real feelings. But just as he discovers true love for the first time, he receives devastating news – he is suffering from a terminal illness.

His chemistry with co-star Yaya Urassaya Sperbund has been a major talking point.

Where to watch: Available on Netflix.
