TWICE's Tzuyu

TWICE’s maknae (youngest member) is making a big impact!

On September 6, many K-pop artists including Baekhyun from EXO, MEOVV, Tzuyu from TWICE, and xikers released new music. Particularly, K-pop fans were looking forward to Tzuyu’s highly-anticipated debut with 1st mini-album, abouTZU.

The 25-year-old K-pop star dropped the first solo release after 9 years of debuting as a member of TWICE.

abouTZU sold 220,471 copies on the day of the release, and the sales figure is likely to go up in the next few days. Her debut album debuted at #3 on the Worldwide iTunes, following behind Megan Thee Stallion’s Neva Play (ft. BTS RM) (#1) and Baekhyun’s HELLO, WORLD (#2).

With this, Tzuyu secured the 7th spot in the Top 10 list of female K-pop soloists with the highest first-day sales. BLACKPINK Jisoo’s ME (876,294 copies) currently holds the record for highest first-day sales by a female soloist followed by TWICE Jihyo’s ZONE (361,104 copies), and Lisa’s LALISA (330,129 copies). In addition, Nayeon’s NA, Rosé’s R, and Yuqi’s YUQ1 secure the 4th, 5th, and 6th spot respectively.

In June, another TWICE member Nayeon made her first solo comeback with the second EP NA, which reached 286,290 copies on the first day.

On another note, TWICE recently completed their world tour READY TO BE, and released a Japanese album DIVE. Now, TWICE’s trio sub-unit MISAMO (Mina, Sana, and Momo) is gearing up to make a comeback in October.
