TWS held a media showcase for their second mini album SUMMER BEAT! at the Blue Square Mastercard Hall in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul on June 24.
The group is making their first comeback with a second mini album, SUMMER BEAT!, nearly 6 months after their debut in January 2024.
At the event, TWS members talked about their new album, support from labelmates SEVENTEEN, and most importantly, if they see RIIZE as a competition.
TWS on New Album ‘SUMMER BEAT’
Hanjin appeared optimistic about their new release, saying, “This album is a new beginning for me and all the members. We are working harder to create a good stage every day.”
Furthermore, Kyungmin shared, “Through this second album, I became closer to the members. I want to hear that we are one team, TWS, running toward our dreams.”
TWS gained huge popularity with their debut track Plot Twist from Sparkling Blue due to its refreshing sound. The song has been such a massive hit that it continues to hold a strong position on the charts even now.
Moreover, Kyungmin expressed his wish to receive a grand prize at an award ceremony in the next 3 years.
TWS on SEVENTEEN’s Support
At the media showcase, TWS members did not forget to praise the senior group, SEVENTEEN, for their unwavering support.
Youngjae shared that SEVENTEEN members are always nicer to them and guide them, “SEVENTEEN seniors are always nice and friendly whenever I meet them. They listen to each member’s story and do not hesitate to give advice, so I received a lot of help while preparing this time as well.”
Shinyu praised Seungkwan, saying, “Seungkwan gave me strength by giving me encouragement and support, saying, ‘You like music so much, work hard in your activities.’”
Hanjin also admired Seungkwan, revealing that he sent a coffee truck and asked him to eat together.
TWS on Competition with RIIZE
TWS and RIIZE are viewed as rival groups, and with both making a comeback in the same month, just a week apart, it’s natural that this will invite comparison.
When asked if TWS sees RIIZE as a rival group, Youngjae shared, “I greeted the RIIZE seniors backstage warmly. I want us to grow together.”
On another note, TWS expressed their interest in guesting on Amazing Saturday on tvN, a popular entertainment show.
