The excitement around a Wanna One reunion has finally become official.
An Mnet representative confirmed on January 2, 2026, that the iconic project boy group will reunite through a new reality program. The representative stated, “As the Wanna One members were thinking about how to meet Wannables, they came together with the idea of producing a reality program that Wannables loved the most.”
The show is currently in preparation and is planned for release in the first half of this year. Mnet continued, “Specific scheduling and detailed content will be announced once they are finalized.”
Speculation started a day earlier when Mnet released a teaser video on YouTube and on its official platform, Mnet Plus. The video was titled “2026 Coming Soon, We Meet Again.” It used Wanna One’s familiar cassette tape imagery, which immediately caught fans’ attention.
As the tape played, a short part of their 2018 song “Spring Breeze” could be heard. The lyrics “우리 다시 만나,” meaning “See you again,” appeared on screen. The video ended with the message “We GO again,” a clear reference to Wanna One’s popular reality series “Wanna One Go.”
Soon after the teaser dropped, several members shared it on their personal Instagram Stories. Hwang Minhyun, Lee Daehwi, Bae Jinyoung, Yoon Jisung, Ha Sungwoon, and Park Woojin all reposted the video. Park Woojin later shared photos with other members and used Wanna One’s music in the background.
In an official statement, Mnet explained that the members themselves wanted to meet Wannable again. Because of that, they agreed to work on a new reality show, a format that fans have always loved.
Wanna One, an 11-member boy group, was formed through Mnet’s popular audition program “Produce 101 Season 2” in 2017. After their debut, they quickly became one of the most popular groups of their generation. Songs like “Energetic” and “Beautiful” were massive hits. At their peak, they were active alongside top groups like EXO and BTS and were famously referred to as “EX-BANG-ONE.”
This reunion is even more meaningful because fans will be able to see all three of those major third-generation groups again in the first half of this year. EXO is releasing a new album this month, while BTS is preparing a comeback in March. In addition, legendary groups like Apink, MAMAMOO, BIGBANG, and more will make comebacks this year.
