Red Velvet’s main vocalist Wendy is set to release new music next month, followed by a world tour. This will be her first solo release since joining ASND Label in April 2025, after leaving SM Entertainment.
On August 25, ASND label dropped the prologue ‘Believe’ for Wendy’s forthcoming 3rd mini-album titled Cerulean Verge via social media. In the almost 3-minute prologue, Wendy impresses fans with her vocals and has them excited for the album release.
Lyrics such as “I believe in love / I believe in hope / I believe in light / I believe in sorrow / Chasing the dark away – a shining heart / Standing on the sky – I believe in us” has built excitement. Cerulean Verge is her first major physical album release since Wish You Hell in early 2024. This upcoming release will be her third solo EP, following Like Water in 2021 and Wish You Hell in 2024.
Wendy’s debut EP, Like Water, released on April 5, 2021, featured tracks like When This Rain Stops and Best Friend with Seulgi. The album sold approximately 116,696 copies in its first week and totaled 184,620 copies in South Korea.
Her second EP, Wish You Hell, released on March 12 last year, included songs such as the title track Wish You Hell and His Car Isn’t Yours. The album achieved first-week sales of 124,894 copies and total sales of 157,055 copies.
In late 2024, she collaborated with BTS’s Jin on the track Heart on the Window, included in his solo album Happy. The song received praise for their vocal chemistry and was performed live during Jin’s concert in Goyang.
Wendy remains an active member of Red Velvet, balancing group activities with her solo career. ASND has vowed full support for her solo activities while coordinating with Red Velvet group schedules.
Alongside her September comeback, the singer also announced her first solo world tour, W:EALIVE, set to begin in Seoul on September 20 and 21, before making stops in major cities across Asia and North America.
Meanwhile, Wendy will drop Cerulean Verge on all music platforms on September 10 at 6 pm followed by a world tour.
